Orange County homeowners are investing heavily in glass upgrades in 2025 — and it’s easy to see why. Glass adds space, light and value to any home. Here are the five trends we’re seeing most across Laguna Hills, Newport Beach, Irvine, Mission Viejo and the rest of South Orange County.
1. Black-Grid frameless shower enclosuress
The black steel-grid aesthetic — borrowed from industrial and Scandinavian design — has exploded in popularity across Orange County bathrooms. Matte black hardware on frameless glass creates a bold, high-contrast look that photographs beautifully and adds serious resale value.
We’re installing black-hardware frameless enclosures constantly throughout Coto de Caza, Laguna Niguel and Newport Coast. The key is precision: every panel must be cut to exact measurements so the grid lines align perfectly.
2. Floating Glass Shelves in Kitchens and Bathrooms
Glass shelving is replacing wooden and metal shelves in modern Orange County kitchens and bathrooms. Tempered glass shelves give a clean, airy look — you can see through them, which makes small rooms feel larger.
We custom-cut glass shelves to any dimension at our Laguna Hills shop. Popular thicknesses are 3/8″ for smaller shelves and 1/2″ for longer spans. We can polish edges, add radius corners or drill holes for mounting hardware.
3. Full-Panel Glass glass wine cellarss
Custom glass wine cellars have become a statement feature in luxury Orange County homes — particularly in Newport Beach, Laguna Beach and Dove Canyon. Frameless glass walls and doors let the wine collection become part of the room’s design.
These require precision engineering: the glass must be sealed for temperature control, and the hinges and hardware need to support heavy panels over time. Ace Mirror & Glass designs and installs custom wine cellars throughout South Orange County.
4. Frameless Glass glass deck railingss and Balconies
As Orange County homeowners want to maximise their ocean, canyon and city views, frameless glass deck and balcony railings are replacing wood and metal. A fully transparent glass panel railing on a Dana Point or Laguna Beach deck creates an unobstructed ocean panorama.
Glass railings also require far less maintenance than wood and won’t rust like iron. We install post-mount and channel-mount systems throughout Orange County with marine-grade stainless steel hardware for coastal properties.
5. back-painted glass Splashbacks and Feature Walls
Back-painted glass — glass with a solid colour applied to the back surface — is one of the most practical and stylish kitchen and bathroom upgrades available. It’s non-porous (no grout lines to clean), completely customisable to any Pantone colour and incredibly durable.
We’re seeing this trend take off in kitchen splashbacks and master bathroom feature walls throughout Irvine, Lake Forest and Mission Viejo. We supply and install back-painted glass in any colour and dimension at our Laguna Hills fabrication shop.
